Photos - Santorini Island

We spent nine days on beautiful Santorini Island in the town of Ia, relaxing and enjoying the magnificent views. Santorini is one of the most picturesque of the Greek islands, and is usually the one pictured in the travel brochures. It was nearly impossible to take a bad picture here -- every view was fantastic. As you can see, we had nothing but great weather (although a bit hot). Our hosts, Kiki and George were splendid and the view from our balcony was fantastic. We also met John and Judy on the ferry to Santorini and again on the island -- a very nice couple from Chicago (picture below). The only downside to our stay was the occasional run-in with the local business people. Some were quite nice, but the majority were pushy and rude. And, just to raise our stress level before we left the island and returned to reality, we spent 7 hours sitting on hard cement benches at the dock waiting for our ferry back to Athens -- the ferry company was on strike!
